    Conveniently located just 100 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. and 70 miles northwest of Virginia, Charlottesville is a cultural hotspot nestled against the Blue Ridge Mountains. The city is home to more than 44,000 people and offers a laidback lifestyle that balances urban-worthy entertainment and dining with a natural backdrop of the great outdoors.

    Charlottesville is perhaps best known as being home to Thomas Jefferson, writer of the Declaration of Independence and second president of the U.S. His estate and vineyard, Monticello, is a landmark destination within Charlottesville to locals and tourists alike. Jefferson also founded the University of Virginia, a top-ranked university that is considered a “Public Ivy.” UVA’s retail and dining area is known as The Corner and is a popular place for all residents to shop and eat.
